1000 Awesome Things

This website is one of the best things I've ever found on the internet: http://1000awesomethings.com/the-top-1000/

Seriously, it is so funny because it's so relatable. It's just a list of everything awesome in life and as you scroll through it I can guarantee you will have a smile on your face because you will know exactly what they're talking about.

For example, here are some of my favourites:

Who doesn't love that? Whether it's the kiss cam or the fan cam, it makes everyone happy... the best is when the person on the screen doesn't realize that they're on it and they do embarrassing things (I may be guilty of that) Haha.

Anyone who has lived in Helaman Halls knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about! The day I realized I could make grilled cheese sandwiches in the waffle maker was a very happy day.

Everyone has had this happen to them! You'll be sitting in the family room watching TV and then all of a sudden the sunlight coming through the window hits one of your shelves perfectly and you see a little sparkle of purple tinfoil.... jackpot.

Love this because after a year I have finally learned all the words to the American national anthem. Now I can actually sing instead of just moving my lips pretending like I know the words.

Hahahahahahahahaha.... Realizing that your eavesdropping/staring is acceptable because you weren't the only one doing it.

It doesn't matter what the sweatshirt looks like it always smells the best, feels the best and makes you smile the biggest. (Especially if he took it off and gave it to you because it was cold out)

Prime spot on any plane. When everyone else keeps tossing and turning to find a comfy position, you are sprawled out! So nice... and your legs don't fall asleep.

The best is when it's money =) Once I found $20 bucks in a pocket... that was definitely a great day.

Feels so good! But sadly it only happens once every few months in my own room so I just go to my roommate's bedrooms instead (where it is actually clean) sometimes I even study in their rooms because it's so much less chaotic. Opps, good thing I have nice friends =)

I always try and make it last as long as possible and so the excitement just builds... when you finally peel it off, it's like that thing is brand new again!

So Utah.

Hedley - Invincible. Play count = 67.

Reminds me of one of my favourite episodes of The Office -"I like waking up to the smell of bacon - sue me. And since I don't have a butler, I have to do it myself." http://www.nbc.com/The_Office/video/best-michael-moments-no-1/1103350/

Did you know those were there?! I didn't until one day when I was watching Ellen Degeneres and she told us! What a great invention... you can pull out a piece of foil without having the whole roll fall out. Genius I tell you, genius.

Ladies you know what I'm talking about. Guys... some of you probably do too haha. The best is when you're wearing silky PJ's too!

Soooo good! Especially when everyone is thinking about it for a long time and then suddenly it pops into your head.

Nuff said.

The last guy I dated was 6"11... I agree, he is pretty awesome. Even more awesome: People's reactions as he walks by. They think that just because he's more than a foot taller than them that he can't hear what they're saying about him "down there." Hate to break it to ya, he can hear you.

Nothing heals a cold faster than a little Bob Barker.

Be honest, you know you have a huge smile on your face as you walk past everyone else and get the mashed potatoes while they are still hot and the first piece of cake with the perfect amount of icing.

Well... those are just some of my favourites but honestly, they are all great.
Total time wasted on that website today: 1 hour and 17 minutes.

The Top 10 Things I'm Grateful For

Hello everyone! (actually I’m pretty sure that no one reads this) haha… But if you are, hey that’s awesome. I’m glad that my life is of some interest to you.

Today’s blog topic: The Top 10 Things I’m Grateful For (Not in any order)

1.     My Family – Missing them so much right now! I wish I was on that cruise with them right now too but no, sadly I am in school.
2.     BYU – I LOVE BYU! Seriously, it is the best place in the world. Better than Disneyland (and that’s pretty hard to beat).
3.     Jimmer – You changed my life. You are my hero…. Why did you have to get engaged? =(
4.     Socks – I would die without socks. I can’t sleep without them! I wear them all the time (except with sandals) haha.
5.     My Roommates – They are the best. We’re like a little 5-piece puzzle, we’re all so different but similar enough to work perfectly together.
6.     Facebook Stalking – So many treasures every time you log-on.
7.     Nail Polish – Never go a day without painting my nails. Definitely the “super-girly” part of me, I match my nails to every outfit =) haha
8.     The Gospel – Opps… this should have been number 1. Defines me and my life. I would be nothing without it.
9.     Kennie – My best friend. My other half. Don’t know what I would do without her.  D4L.
10. Skype – Best invention ever. Makes it so much easier to be away from loved ones! And… even grandma’s can use it!

America ruined Harry Potter

So... Be prepared because I'm going off on a little Canadian rant right now. Today I was just sitting on the couch reading Harry Potter and my roommate (who LOVES Harry Potter) comes up and asks me what I'm reading. I thought she was joking so I showed her the cover and then went back to reading. But then she came over and was like, "Wait a minute..... woah! Is that Harry Potter?" Then, we realized that all of her Harry Potter books had different covers than mine did. We were a little confused so we turned to Google (where every question is answered). After a little bit of research we found out that there are two sets of Harry Potter books: one set for America and one set for the rest of the world! I was blown away. I mean, I know Americans think that they're better than everyone else and that they can do whatever they want.. but changing Harry Potter!?! That's like changing The Bible! I mean, they changed the first book from "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"! What the heck!?! Changing the main part of the book!? WHYYYY!?! I wouldn't be surprised if you guys read "James and the Giant Orange" or "Lord of the Necklaces" or "The Dog in the Hat"! Also.... did you know that Harry Potter books come out a week later in the USA because they have to American-ize them before they sell them!? Here are a list of how America changed the books from the originals:

UK: Skip

Can you believe that?? I can't. The one that shocked me the most was changing "Sherbet Lemon" to "Lemon Drop".... like really? Why is that necessary? Sherbet Lemon DEFINES Dumbledore! Ahhhhh! And, they also make a whole other set of movies just for Americans with different lines and everything! And every time it uses a word like colour, honour, etc... they change it to "color" and "honor". I'm sorry, but are Americans really that oblivious that they can't figure out what it's trying to say?? Ahh I'm still in shock about all of this. I feel bad for American Harry Potter fans because YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO!

This is how they should look!

Not like this!

Welcome to my blog!

Hello bloggers/blog world! Wow... it's official, I'm now a blogger. My blogging virginity has been taken. I'm excited to see why blogs are so popular because I've always thought they were a waste of time. Actually, I still think that they're a waste of time. I've been in the library for 2 hours already and the only things I've done is check my Facebook, go on Twitter and start a blog. I'm already a social networking addict so I'm scared that I'm going to get hooked on Tweeting and Blogging now =/ Let's hope that they don't take over my life.

However, since setting up my new Twitter/Blog accounts I have confirmed my perfectionism problem. It took me half an hour to choose my screen name for Twitter and then as soon as I confirmed Laura_Payne22 I already wished that I hadn't chosen that. Also, I took twenty minutes to choose the font I wanted for my blog and about another hour on top of that to decide the back round and colour scheme. These new additions to my life are proving to be quite dangerous. When I fail all my other classes I'm going to blame this class for introducing me to these time-wasters.

Wow, I'm glad that this is my first impression to my new classmates and professor, A-time-wasting-social-networking-addict. Opps, that sounds pretty bad... But, in my defence, the only reason I love social networking is because I find people so fascinating. I love Facebook stalking, gossiping and just filling my head with random information about people's lives. Don't worry though, I do everything with good intentions and I'm excited to try these new networking sites and then give my opinion on them. Well, here's to a future in blogging.
